Introducing Our New Artistic Director!
With great delight, the Hollywood Master Chorale announces that composer, arranger and singer Jeffrey Bernstein has taken the baton as Artistic Director of the Hollywood Master Chorale.
“We were looking for someone familiar with the greater Los Angeles music community who was attracted to our unique mission. Jeff’s active career in film and musical theater as well as his mastery of the classical repertoire is the perfect fit for us,” said Hollywood Master Chorale President Lyndia Lowy. ”Bernstein was selected after a rigorous search that drew 29 well-qualified applicants from throughout Southern California.”
Bernstein has accepted this position in addition to maintaining his post as Artistic and Executive Director of the Pasadena Master Chorale and serving as Assistant Conductor of the Pasadena Symphony. Additionally, he is Principal Guest Conductor of the Harvard Business School-endowed concert series. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music, magna cum laude, from Harvard University. He earned his Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from Yale University’s School of Music Institute of Sacred Music. His PhD in Composition is from UCLA. He was previously Director of Choral Music at Occidental College and Artistic Director of the Pasadena POPS Orchestra.
Bernstein and the Chorale have exciting plans for the remainder of the season, which will be announced shortly.
